Jamie B. Stewart, Jr. became a Director of FGIC in August 2013 and was appointed Chairman of the Board in December 2013. Mr. Stewart was President of the Federal Farm Credit Banks Funding Corporation from February 2004 until he retired in March 2012. During that time, he was responsible for financial reporting, capital markets funding, and strategic planning for a $200 billion agricultural cooperative (GSE) that successfully managed through the financial crisis of 2008. Mr. Stewart was also Chief Operating Officer of The New York Federal Reserve Bank from 1999 to 2005. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Gestalt International Study Center and serves on the Board of Directors of Calvary Hospital. Mr. Stewart is a long-standing member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York City. Mr. Stewart holds a JD from Suffolk Law School, and an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA degree from Dartmouth College. Prior to earning his MBA, Mr. Stewart served in the U.S. Navy for four years as a surface line officer. |
